Uncle Mo is from the Grey Sovereign sire line. His great grandsire Siberian Express is a son of Caro. Broodmare sires which provide a daughter of Caro to complement this pattern include DANEHILL DANCER, MAGIC RING, MARIA’S MON, TAYASU TSUYOSHI, URGENT REQUEST and UNBRIDLED’S SONG.
Uncle Mo’s damsire Arch and Crème dela Crème in Indian Charlie’s distaff family are both members of the BETTY DERR (A4) family. Other family members such as ALI OOP, BERTOLINI, GULCH, GREEN DESERT, LATARMISS, MINSHAANSHU AMAD, NAMAQUALAND, PRESS CARD, REVERSE, SWAPS, TWINING and VAL D’ARNO in the pedigrees of broodmares would be beneficial.
Arch is bred on a Kris S. / Danzig cross, a pattern which is reversed in the pedigree of WAR CHANT. His daughters will create a dynamic pattern reversal when put to Uncle Mo.
Kris S.’s sire Roberto can be sex balanced by broodmare sires carrying his daughters. Those fitting this description include AL SAMER, DIATRIBE, DANSILI, LEROIDESANIMAUX, WARNING, GIANT’S CAUSEWAY and ENCOUNTER.
Likewise, Uncle Mo should appreciate Danzig sire line mares, which complement the daughter of Danzig in his pedigree. The DANEHILL line provides a large pool of descendants, while other Danzig sons such as AGNES WORLD, ANABAA, BELONG TO ME, BERTOLINI, BIANCONI, CAPE CROSS, CHIEF’S CROWN, DESERT SUN, MISTER C., PERUGINO, SNAADEE and FOXHOUND are candidates.
Leo Castelli and Hail To Reason are two BATON ROUGE(4) family members prominent in Uncle Mo. MEADOWLAKE (a half brother to Leo Castelli) will reinforce this line very nicely. He can be found in daughters of HENNY HUGHES and GREENWOOD LAKE. Mares carrying daughters of Hail To Reason will also boost this line. BELONG TO ME and CAERLEON carry daughters of Hail To Reason. CAERLEON can be found in mares by ALQUOZ, BLETCHLEY PARK, GENEROUS and TENBY.
Leo Castelli is bred on a Northern Dancer / Raise A Native cross. Damsires which can dynamically reverse this pattern include DISTANT MUSIC, DISTORTED HUMOR, END SWEEP, ELUSIVE QUALITY, HIGH YIELD, KINGMAMBO, LUJAIN, MARQUETRY, NO EXCUSE NEEDED, SILVER DEPUTY, THUNDER GULCH, UMATILLA, VETTORI and ZAFONIC.
Leo Castelli is by Sovereign Dancer, a member of the LA CHICA family. This line can be boosted by mares carrying NATIVE DANCER, SECRET SAVINGS, BOLD LAD, BONHOMIE, MISTY DAY (in SNIPPETS) and WHAT A PLEASURE (in SNAADEE and GILDED TIME).
Uncle Mo traces in direct tail female descent to ROWES BUD, a taproot of the BEESWING (8) family. Other sires from this line include STORM CAT, ROYAL ACADEMY, POSTPONED, CAPTAIN RIO, GOLDEN FLEECE, BE MY GUEST and PERSONAL HOPE.
The MR. PROSPECTOR line is working very well with Uncle Mo’s sire, Indian Charlie. Apart from Uncle Mo, all four of his other Gr.1 winners are out of mares from this sire line. Mr. Prospector line sires to target include FUSAICHI PEGASUS, ELUSIVE QUALITY, HUSSONET, BELLOTTO, WOODMAN, E DUBAI, EL MOXIE, GEIGER COUNTER, RHYTHM, SECRET SAVINGS, STRAIGHT STRIKE, STREET CRY, THUNDER GULCH and UMATILLA.
The triplication of both Northern Dancer and Princequillo in Uncle Mo will appreciate the presence of STAR KINGDOM in mares. Both have a recognised affinity with this influence. The chief sources of Star Kingdom today include MARSCAY, CANNY LAD, BLETCHINGLY, KENNY’S BEST PAL, LUSKIN STAR, COVETOUS, TODMAN, SHIFNAL and BUREAUCRACY.
