Trapeze Artist is a product of a highly successful sire line, his first five tail male ancestors all being champion progenitors. He is a son of Snitzel, who is working with a variety of broodmare sire lines, his versatility undoubtedly adding to his outstanding success. There is no reason, based on his pedigree patterns, why Trapeze Artist cannot continue this domination.

Grandsire Redoute’s Choice, his second damsire Nijinsky II and Domesday in Trapeze Artist’s pedigree are all members of the prepotent TORPENHOW family. Trapeze Artist should welcome the presence of other family members in mares such as TRY MY BEST (sire of LAST TYCOON), THE MINSTREL (sire of PALACE MUSIC), HURRICANE SKY, XAAR, UMATILLA, MASTERCLASS, NEW REGENT, EL GRAN SENOR, SPINNING WORLD, GIELGUD, FAR NORTH, FREE AMERICA, RULER and DENON. Snitzel’s Gr1 winner WANDJINA and Gr3 winner DANCES ON STARS are both out of Last Tycoon mares.

The duplication of Storm Bird in Trapeze Artist suggests that more Nijinsky II would suit, as the two form a proven nick. Therefore, mares carrying ROYAL ACADEMY, CAERLEON, BEL ESPRIT, WESTERN SYMPHONY, YEATS, WHISKEY ROAD, BLETCHLEY PARK, KALA DANCER or FANTASTIC LIGHT (damsire is Nijinsky II) really appeal.

The SIR TRISTRAM line is a desirable cross for Trapeze Artist, his sire Snitzel having produced two Group winners from ZABEEL mares; a Gr2 winner by HULA TOWN; and Gr3 winners from a MARAUDING mare and an OCTAGONAL mare to-date.  Daughters of other descendants such as GROSVENOR, RESET, LONHRO, KAAPSTAD, SOVEREIGN RED, EL QAHIRA, MILITARY PLUME, SAVABEEL and DR GRACE are also appealing.

HALO line broodmares should also be sought.  A close relation to Danehill and Northern Dancer (6 lines in Trapeze Artist), Halo can be found via daughters / granddaughters of MORE THAN READY (and sons such as SEBRING and PLUCK), FUJI KISEKI, SOUTHERN IMAGE, SUNDAY SILENCE, DUBLEO and irgun.

Trapeze Artist carries LADY SUSAN family members Danzig and Bletchingly (twice). The third ancestor who appears many times in concert with these two is ROCKEFELLA. Sources of Rockefella include STAR WAY, DANEHILL DANCER, BALMERINO, ALVARO, FAMOUS STAR, LONG ROW, GYPSY KINGDOM, IDEAL PLANET, KEEN, RADAMES, SWITCH IN TIME and CREESE.

The damsire of Bletchingly (duplicated in Trapeze Artist) is Relic, who has an affinity with fellow LA CHICA family member, RAISE A NATIVE. Trapeze Artist only has one presence of Raise a Native on his 7th remove, via his son Mr Prospector.  The most prolific of the sons of Raise a Native, Mr. Prospector line mares are very appealing, as he also works very well with the Danehill line. Broodmare sires such as HUSSONET, RHYTHM, WOODMAN, KINGMAMBO, STRAIGHT STRIKE, MACHIAVELLIAN, ELUSIVE QUALITY, UMATILLA, GEIGER COUNTER, BELLOTTO, EL MOXIE, JADE ROBBERY, distorted humor, END SWEEP, INFLATE, VETTORI, THUNDER GULCH, FAPPIANO and SECRET SAVINGS are good candidates.  Snitzel’s Gr1 winner SWEET IDEA and Gr2 winner FRENCH EMOTION are out of mares with Woodman on their sire line.

Snitzel’s Gr1 winner HOT SNITZEL is out of a mare by BLUSHING GROOM, who is also accessible via QUEST FOR FAME, SPECTRUM, REDDING, NOVERRE, NASSIPOUR and FANTASTIC LIGHT mares.

A sex balanced duplication of speed influence SNIPPETS (damsire of Snitzel) can be achieved by introducing his sons PINS and SNIPPETSON in mares.

Broodmare sire representatives of SADLER’S WELLS, FAIRY KING and NUREYEV include ENCOSTA DE LAGO, FALBRAV, STRAVINSKY, SPINNING WORLD, STARCRAFT, PEINTRE CELEBRE, HIGH CHAPARRAL, SCENIC, CARNEGIE, EL PRADO (and sons ARTIE SCHILLER, KITTEN’S JOY and MEDAGLIA D’ORO), GALILEO and BARATHEA. Compatibility is borne out by Snitzel’s Gr1 winners HEAVENLY BLUE (out of an El Prado mare), RUSSIAN REVOLUTION (Stravinsky mare), INVADER and SUMMER PASSAGE (both out of Encosta De Lago mares).

Snitzel has produced Gr 1 winners out of mares by RUBITON (REDZEL), SUCCESS EXPRESS (SHAMUS AWARD) and GENERAL NEDIYM (SIZZLING). There are no impediments on his distaff side to Trapeze Artist also working very well with these individuals in mares.
