Toorak Toff is by Show A Heart, a prolific and successful stallion. Examining what lines he is working with is one avenue of determining Toorak Toff’s likely compatibility. Reinforcing key ancestors and creating proven nicks are other techniques.
Show A Heart has worked well with mares by ROYAL ACADEMY, producing dual Gr.1 winner HEART OF DREAMS and Gr.3 winner RIGHTFULLY YOURS out of Royal Academy mares. The affinity is probably due to the fact that Show A Heart carries a daughter of Nijinsky II, creating a sex balanced duplication when meeting with Royal Academy, a son of Nijinsky II. Other broodmare sires carrying sons of Nijinsky II include BEL ESPRIT, WESTERN SYMPHONY, SERHEED, KALA DANCER, WHISKEY ROAD and BLETCHLEY PARK, which should all work well with Toorak Toff.
Toorak Toff’s pedigree is very appealing for DANEHILL line mares. He carries Danzig via his damsire Grand Lodge, who has a very good record when crossing with fellow Danzig descendant Danehill. Show a Heart confirms this compatibility – he has produced several stakes winners out of Danehill line mares, such as Gr.2 winner LUKE’S LUCK (dam by REDOUTE’S CHOICE) and Listed winners DUAL CHAMBER (LION HUNTER) and DISCREET (DANZERO). Carrying a daughter of Kaoru Star to sex balance the son in Toorak Toff, plus some interesting line breeding further back, DANZERO mares look particularly dynamic for Toorak Toff.

Toorak Toff is particularly strong in the LADY JOSEPHINE family. He carries multiple lines to names such as Nasrullah, Tudor Minstrel, Royal Charger, Fair Trial, as well as less common family members Regal Advice and Ardistaan. CANNY LAD and KENMARE mares contribute more members of this prepotent line. COVETOUS and his son ST. COVET are strong in this family (and have also worked well with Show A Heart).
