Purrealist traces in direct tail female descent to LA TROIENNE. This wonderful family is best reinforced with mares carrying HULA CHIEF (a half brother to Purrealist’s third dam), WOODMAN, MORE THAN READY, NOBLE BIJOU, BUCKPASSER, PRIVATE ACCOUNT, FRANCIS S., HOOK MONEY, CORNISH PRINCE, POKER, MR. BUSHER, BIMELECH, PARDAL, JET ACTION, THE AXE II and BELONG TO ME.
Storm Cat’s damsire Secretariat works well with his 5/8ths brother SIR GAYLORD, who appears in Surrealist’s sire Kenny’s Best Pal as grandsire of Sir Tristram. Other descendants of Sir Gaylord include IMPERIAL PRINCE and his sons VICTORY PRINCE and IMPERIAL BARON, plus TIERCE, AMYNTOR, LORD GAYLE and HABITAT and his sons.
Tale of the Cat is from the same family as GONE WEST, ROUND TABLE, ATAN (sire of SHARPEN UP), ALCIDE, PRINCE BRIGHT, AUREOLE and KNOWN FACT. Purrealist’s damsire carries Round Table and Prince Bright. DON’T SAY HALO and POMPEII COURT are other sources of this line.
Sir Tristram is present through a daughter in Purrealist, so mares carrying Sir Tristram’s sons create a good balance. In particular, GROSVENOR has both Round Table and Aureole. Aureole and Alcide are both present in COSSACK WARRIOR and BRAVE WARRIOR mares.
Similarly, sons of Kenmare such as KELTRICE, KENFAIR, KENDOR, METAL STORM and KENVAIN suit to sex balance the daughter in Purrealist.
Purrealist’s half brother, the four time Group One winner Racing To Win, is by ENCOSTA DE LAGO.
DEHERE, SALIERI, FOREST GLOW, AMALGAM and RED RANSOM carry DAMASCUS, who performs well with Storm Cat. Tale of the Cat’s Group One winner My Trusty Cat is out of a Private Account mare (Damascus).
BLUSHING GROOM has worked well with Storm Cat. NASSIPOUR, NOVERRE, FANTASTIC LIGHT, MAROONED, QUEST FOR FAME, spectrum, SHAGNY and TAWFIQ mares are therefore sought after for Purrealist.
Carrying Mr. Prospector through a daughter, Lion Heart should suit mares hailing from the Mr. Prospector male line to create a desirable sex balanced duplication. Mares by HUSSONET, BELLOTTO, GEIGER COUNTER, EL MOXIE, JADE HUNTER, RHYTHYM, SECRET SAVINGS, THUNDER GULCH, WOODMAN, UMATILLA, VETTORI and STREET CRY mares appeal.
ROYAL ACADEMY’s daughters should work well with Purrealist. A half brother to the dam of Storm Cat, Royal Academy has the added benefit of being by Nijinsky, who appears trhough a daughter in Tale of the Cat.
