Mr. Prospector line mares are particularly appealing for Oratorio, with Danehill having produced Group One winners such as Flying Spur, Rumplestiltskin, Regal Rose, Laisserfaire, Scintillation and Miss Danehill from Mr. Prospector line mares. Australasian broodmare sires such as RHYTHM, WOODMAN, STRAIGHT STRIKE, UMATILLA, GEIGER COUNTER, BELLOTTO, EL MOXIE, JADE ROBBERY, distorted humor, END SWEEP, INFLATE, VETTORI, THUNDER GULCH and SECRET SAVINGS are good candidates.
VAIN works well with Oratorio’s sire, Danehill. He and his sons have Gr.1 winners Stratum, Danelagh, Danglissa and Arlington Road with Vain through their dams. Vain also reverses the Nearco / Hyperion cross present in Vaguely Noble, damsire of Oratorio.
A desirable sex balanced duplication of Vaguely Noble (damsire of Oratorio) can be created with mares carrying his son, NOBLE BIJOU.
The BLUSHING GROOM line is appealing for Oratorio. He is in the dams’ pedigree of Danehill Gr. One winners Arena, Intercontinental, Banks Hill and North Light. Blushing Groom can be sourced in mares by QUEST FOR FAME, NASSIPOUR, ARAZI, URGENT REQUEST, REDDING, VISCOUNT and SPECTRUM.
Danehill’s Australian Group performers such as Elvstroem, Ha Ha, Catbird, Merlene, Redoute’s Choice, Danelagh, Mr. Murphy, King of Danes, Shovhog, Fairy King Prawn, Camarena, Danbird, Dashing Eagle, Dane Ripper, Danzero, Special Dane, Shovoff, Danelagh, Confer, Mannington, Springsteen and Platinum Scissors all have STAR KINGDOM through their dams. BLETCHINGLY, MARSCAY, LUSKIN STAR and canny lad in particular have had great success with Danehill.
Danehill’s sire Danzig is from the family of ROCKEFELLA and Star Kingdom’s grandson, BLETCHINGLY, who appears in several of Danehill’s stakes winners including Redoute’s Choice, Jet Spur, Flying Babe, Special Dane and West Point.
New Zealand based sire SOVEREIGN EDITION, appears in the pedigrees of Danehill’s Group One winners Shovhog, Magic of Sydney, Dane Ripper and Daney Boy.
HALO line broodmares are great candidates for mating with Oratorio. A close relation to Northern Dancer and Danehill, he can be sourced via MORE THAN READY, DON’T SAY HALO, FUJI KISEKI, MORE THAN READY, irgunand SUNDAY SILENCE. VRC Australian Guineas winner Al Maher is by Danehill out of a Don’t Say Halo mare.
Aureole on Oratorio’s fourth remove is a close relation of ROUND TABLE. Dam sires carrying this important ancestor include SIR TRISTRAM, POMPEII COURT and HAULPAK. Sir Tristram line mares have a favourable strike rate with Oratorio’s sire Danehill. Stakes winners Darci Brahma, Dane Ripper, Nothin’ Leica Dane, Blackfriars, Lucky Owners and Viking Ruler are prime examples.
