A stallion with a strongly linebred pedigree, No Nay Never’s pedigree looks to be a very appealing vehicle for outcrossing to a number of lines common in Australasian pedigrees. He is off to a great start in the Northern Hemisphere, having sired nine stakes winners (to May 19) and earning the title of Leading First Crop Sire 2018.
Mr. Prospector is triplicated in No Nay Never 3f, 5f x 4m. DANZIG is an influence with a proven affinity with Mr. Prospector. His son DANEHILL has carried on this tradition and No Nay Never has demonstrated that he intends to continue this trend. His top performer to-date, Group 1 winner Ten Sovereigns is out of an EXCEED AND EXCEL mare, while his Group 2 winner Land Force is out of a ROCK OF GIBRALTAR mare. ORATORIO, CATCHER IN THE RYE, DANEHILL DANCER and FASTNET ROCK are other Danehill sons to have had early success with No Nay Never.
Green Desert (Danzig) line damsires OASIS DREAM and CAPE CROSS have also enjoyed stakes success with No Nay Never. Other Green Desert line damsires to seek include INVINCIBLE SPIRIT (sire of I AM INVINCIBLE), DESERT PRINCE, DESERT SUN, KHELEYF, SHINKO FOREST and VOLKSRAAD.
Other Danzig line sires which should suit No Nay Never include WAR FRONT, LANGFUHR, SNAADEE, BERTOLINI, BIANCONI, PINE BLUFF, AD VALOREM, ANABAA, BELONG TO ME, CHIEF’S CROWN, ORPEN, HARD SPUN and PERUGINO (and TESTA ROSSA).
Mr Prospector has also worked well with SEATTLE SLEW. He can be sourced via mares carrying CAPOTE, A P INDY (sire of BERNARDINI etc) and AIR DE FRANCE.
Seattle Slew son CAPOTE has additional appeal, as he is a half brother to Exceller, No Nay Never’s second damsire. He appears in mares carrying AGINCOURT, BOSTON HARBOUR and DIXIE UNION. Exceller is also from the family of MADE OF GOLD.
No Nay Never’s stakes winning and multiple stakes placed daughter May Never No is out of a son of Unbridled, also sire of UNBRIDLED’S SONG.
No Nay Never carries four lines to Northern Dancer. His close relation HALO offers an outcross sire line. Mares by DON’T SAY HALO, OREGON, SOUTHERN HALO and his sons (including MORE THAN READY & son SEBRING), SUNDAY SILENCE and his sons (including DEEP IMPACT, FUJI KISEKI and GENUINE) are suggestions.
Another relation of Northern Dancer, MACHIAVELLIAN, appears close up in the pedigree of Listed winner, No Needs Never. His son STREET CRY has plenty of appeal.
The duplication of Nijinsky II in No Nay Never’s sire should appreciate the presence of other TORPENHOW family members in mares. REDOUTE’S CHOICE, MANHATTAN RAIN, DOMESDAY, RUBICK, AL MAHER, TRY MY BEST (sire of LAST TYCOON), FAR NORTH, THE MINSTREL, HURRICANE SKY, NEW REGENT, EL GRAN SENOR, SPINNING WORLD and GIELGUD are all suitable sires from this line.
No Nay Never’s damsire Elusive Quality is from the immediate family of GOLD AND IVORY, GREGORIAN and MUKADDAMAH.
Johannesburg, Gone West and Aureole in No Nay Never’s pedigree are ALOPE family members. Other family members to seek in mares to create positive line breeding include TALE OF THE CAT, ROUND TABLE (damsire of SIR TRISTRAM), KNOWN FACT, DOUTELLE, MUKDDAAM and SONG OF TARA. POMPEII COURT (damsire of STARCRAFT) is also desirable as he carries two ALOPE family members in Tell and Round Table.
SIR TRISTRAM has other attributes for No Nay Never. Not only does he offer Round Table (above), but his sire Sir Ivor creates a sex balanced duplication. Sir Ivor’s sire Sir Gaylord meets with a duplication of half brother Secretariat in No Nay Never. Descendants of Sir Tristram include PIERRO, LONHRO, SAVABEEL, OCTAGONAL, ZABEEL, KAAPSTAD, SOVEREIGN RED, MARAUDING, EL QAHIRA, DON EDUARDO, HULA TOWN, MILITARY PLUME, GROSVENOR and DR. GRACE.
