Neorealism (Jpn) is a Group 1 winning son of Neo Universe, in turn a son of the highly influential Sunday Silence.
Neo Universe is from the same tail female family as SHAMARDAL and STREET CRY, who both stood in Australia and have many daughters here to create a desirable line breeding pattern with Neorealism.
Neo Universe is also sire of Japan’s 2010 Best 3yo Colt and 2011 Best Older Horse, Victoire Pisa. He is out of a MACHIAVELLIAN mare. Machiavellian is most easily sourced in Australian mares via STREET CRY (already mentioned above) and VETTORI. Machiavellian is an ALMAHMOUD family member, as is Neo Universe’s grandsire, Halo.
Neorealism is unusually free of other ALMAHMOUD family members Northern Dancer and his prolific grandson, DANEHILL (by Danzig). This opens up an expansive array of mares for Neorealism, with many mares being by sons and grandsons of Danehill. His key representatives include REDOUTE’S CHOICE (and sons NOT A SINGLE DOUBT and SNITZEL), DANEHILL DANCER (and son CHOISIR), however there are many others too numerous to name.
Other mares from the DANZIG line are also desirable. These include those by AD VALOREM, ANABAA, BELONG TO ME, BIANCONI, CAPE CROSS, DESERT SUN, GOLDEN SNAKE, HARD SPUN, LANGFUHR, ORPEN, PERUGINO, SNAADEE, TESTA ROSSA and WAR FRONT.
Kris, damsire of Neo Universe, is a brother to KEEN and DIESIS, who can be found further back in mares’ pedigrees, such as in mares by DYLAN THOMAS. Sex balancing of Kris’ sire Sharpen Up can also be achieved using mares by DANEHILL DANCER. Both are sons of Danehill, making them doubly appealing.
Shantung, second damsire of Neo Universe, is a member of the SCHIAPARELLI family. This is also the family of LAST TYCOON, SASSAFRAS, ROI DAGOBERT and MASTHEAD, all of which will be beneficial in mares’ pedigrees for Neorealism.
Meadowlake, damsire of Neorealism, is a son of Hold Your Peace. He appears as sire of SUCCESS EXPRESS in mares’ pedigrees. SAVABEEL mares (damsire Success Express) are also desirable to reinforce this individual.
Hold Your Peace carries Prince John and Eight Thirty, while Halo on Neorealism’s sire line, carries Prince John’s close relation, Cosmic Bomb. Prince John and Eighty Thirty have a genetic affinity with WAR ADMIRAL and BOLD RULER, which should be sought in the backgrounds of broodmares for Neorealism.
Hold Your Peace’s sire Speak John appears through a daughter in mares carrying SALIERI, creating a dynamic sex balance. He also carries Bold Ruler (see above).
Neorealism’s pedigree carries a daughter of Raise a Native (damsire of Meadowlake). It begs the presence of Raise a Native’s son, MR PROSPECTOR. Influences from this sire line such as HUSSONET, STRAIGHT STRIKE, GONE WEST, MACHIAVELLIAN, UNBRIDLED’S SONG, RHYTHM, KINGMAMBO, E DUBAI, DISTORTED HUMOR, THUNDER GULCH, VETTORI, WOODMAN, FAPPIANO and GEIGER COUNTER are desirable in partners for Neorealism.
Sex balanced patterns with Neorealism’s second damsire IN REALITY can be created by providing mares from that sire line. DREAM AHEAD, HONOUR AND GLORY, PICCOLO and SOUTHERN APPEAL are examples.
Neorealism’s fourth damsire is Bar Le Duc, a rarely seen three-quarter brother to His Majesty, damsire of DANEHILL, demonstrating another affinity with mares from this line. Other members of this, the BOUDOIR family, to seek in mares are MAJESTIC PRINCE (in ARTIE SCHILLER), CROWNED PRINCE (sire of PRINCE ECHO), WHISKEY ROAD (sire of SEA ROAD) and SECRETO (damsire of VERGLAS).
