The STAR KINGDOM line has already had great success with Mosayter. All three of his stakes performers (including Gr. 1 winner MR. MOET) carry Star Kingdom through their dams, as well as many of his city winners. Sources of Star Kingdom in mares include CANNY LAD, BUREAUCRACY, COVETOUS, DIEU D’OR, DANZERO, MARSCAY, LUSKIN STAR, MARWINA, TRIBU, HURRICANE SKY, JETBALL and REDOUTE’S CHOICE.
Nijinsky II has a great record with the Storm Cat line. Mosayter’s stakes performer Shoot For Glory, smart multi city winner Final Cut and other city winners Dontloitermosoyter, My Sweet Lil and Carryon Regardless all carry Nijinsky II through their dams. He can be sourced via ROYAL ACADEMY, CAERLEON (sire of ALQUOZ and BLETCHLEY PARK), WESTERN SYMPHONY, SHADEED, WHISKEY ROAD, SERHEED, YEATS and SEA ROAD, amongst others.
Of Nijinsky II’s sons, ROYAL ACADEMY in particular is very valuable for Mosayter. Not only is he a son of Nijinsky II, but he is a half brother to the dam of Mosayter’s sire, Storm Cat. Other sources of Royal Academy include FASTNET ROCK, VAL ROYAL and BEL ESPRIT mares.
Nijinsky’s three-quarter brother The Minstrel is also known to work well with Storm Bird. Daughters of MASTERCLASS, PALACE MUSIC and his son NATURALISM are therefore appealing.
Mosayter is from the same family as GONE WEST (sire of ELUSIVE QUALITY and grandsire of XAAR), ROUND TABLE, ATAN (sire of SHARPEN UP), ALCIDE, AUREOLE and KNOWN FACT. Round Table is in the pedigrees of SIR TRISTRAM, DON’T SAY HALO and POMPEII COURT. Sir Tristram’s son GROSVENOR has both Round Table and Aureole. Aureole and Alcide are both present in BRAVE WARRIOR (and his son SHOW A HEART) mares.
The Sir Tristram line is particularly appealing as he also carries SIR GAYLORD on his sire line. Sir Gaylord is a half brother to Secretariat, damsire of Storm Cat. Sir Tristram is available through such damsires as LONHRO, ZABEEL, KAAPSTAD, MILITARY PLUME, OCTAGONAL, RESET and DR. GRACE.
The presence of Bold Ruler on his fourth remove and Eight Thirty on his sixth remove means that Mosayter should appreciate mares carrying WAR ADMIRAL and PRINCE JOHN, who work well with this pair. SUCCESS EXPRESS and his son MOSSMAN contribute Prince John and Eight Thirty. PALACE MUSIC (his son NATURALISM), RIVOTIOUS and SALIERI also offer Prince John. BEAUTIFUL CROWN offers a duplication of Bold Ruler and Eight Thirty.
RIBOT has worked well with Mosayter’s sire line. Mares by DANEHILL, EL MOXIE, GREEN LINE EXPRESS, KALA DANCER, SEA ROAD and HURRICANE SKY are good sources of Ribot.
Daughters of DANEHILL – and his many sons and grandsons – not only carry Ribot, but also create the highly successful Mr. Prospector / Danzig cross when mated to Mosayter.
Storm Cat over DEHERE mares has produced eleven stakes winners worldwide to-date, including Melbourne Group 3 winner, SHAMOLINE WARRIOR.
BLUSHING GROOM has worked very well with Storm Cat. FANTASTIC LIGHT, ORIENTATE, ARAZI, RAHY, VISCOUNT, SPECTRUM and REDDING mares are therefore sought after for Mosayter. Blushing Groom’s son RAINBOW QUEST and grandson QUEST FOR FAME also sex balance Nijinsky II (5 x 5), Raise a Native, Bull Page and Spy Song.
Mares carrying a son of MR. PROSPECTOR are also appealing for Mosayter, as they will sex balance the daughter of Mr. Prospector prominent in his pedigree. There are many good broodmare sires from this line, including HUSSONET, WOODMAN, BELLOTTO, FUSAICHI PEGASUS, RHYTHM, THUNDER GULCH, UMATILLA and STREET CRY.
CENTAINE mares have a great record with Tale of The Cat, who is very similarly bred to Mosayter, being by Storm Cat from a Mr. Prospector mare and out of the same tail female line. His daughter GLAMOUR PUSS (Gr.1) and son SCAREDEE CAT (Gr.2) are out of Centaine mares. Other CENTURY line broodmare sires include RUBITON and EUCLASE.
