A son of Champion Sire Redoute’s Choice, Master Of Design joins a group of his sons at stud, several of which have proven to be highly successful.
Redoute’s Choice, Nijinsky II and Try My Best are members of the very influential TORPENHOW family. Master Of Design would benefit from the presence of other family members in mares such as DR. JOHNSON, FAR NORTH, THE MINSTREL, HURRICANE SKY, XAAR, UMATILLA, FREE AMERICA, RULER, DENON, MASTERCLASS, NEW REGENT, EL GRAN SENOR, SPINNING WORLD and GIELGUD.
The SIR TRISTRAM line is a highly successful cross for Redoute’s Choice. Of his 21 Group One winners, five of them (24%) carry Sir Tristram through the dam. Daughters of descendants such as GROSVENOR, LONHRO, KAAPSTAD, SOVEREIGN RED, MARAUDING, EL QAHIRA, MILITARY PLUME, OCTAGONAL, ZABEEL and DR. GRACE are desirable.
RESET is particularly appealing, as he also carries ASSERT, who is from the same tail female family as Last Tycoon, damsire of Master Of Design.
Redoute’s Choice has sired Group One winners out of mares carrying Star Kingdom line representatives BLETCHINGLY (FASHIONS AFIELD) and LUSKIN STAR (STRATUM) and BISCAY (MELITO). Others to seek from this line include FINAL CARD, MARSCAY, BLAZING SWORD, HULA CHIEF, ZEPHYR BAY, TATTENHAM, SHIFNAL and TODMAN.
Mares by CANNY LAD will create a sex balanced duplication of this Star Kingdom flag bearer when mated with Master Of Design.
Master Of Design is from the same family as stallions BLETCHLEY PARK and SHALFORD. Mares by these sires will create positive line breeding to his great granddam, PRINCESS RU.
With Master Of Design being free of Mr. Prospector, mares from the sire line are particularly appealing. Redoute’s Choice’s Group One winners MISS FINLAND and GALLICA are out of mares from this sire line. Broodmare sires such as HUSSONET, RHYTHM, WOODMAN, KINGMAMBO, STRAIGHT STRIKE, MACHIAVELLIAN, ELUSIVE QUALITY, UMATILLA, GEIGER COUNTER, BELLOTTO, EL MOXIE, JADE ROBBERY, distorted humor, END SWEEP, INFLATE, VETTORI, THUNDER GULCH, FAPPIANO and SECRET SAVINGS are good candidates.
HALO line broodmares are also very appealing. Blue Diamond winner UNDOUBTEDLY is by Redoute’s Choice out of a DON’T SAY HALO mare,while Group 2 winner EL DAANA is out of a mare by SUNDAY SILENCE. A close relation to Danehill and Northern Dancer, Halo can also be sourced via damsires such as DON’T SAY HALO, FUJI KISEKI, MORE THAN READY, SOUTHERN IMAGE, DUBLEO and irgun.
ENCOSTA DE LAGO mares create a very similar cross to that of Group One winner MUSIR, who is by Redoute’s Choice out of an Encosta De Lago mare. Daughters of his son NORTHERN METEOR will also suit.
Encosta De Lago’s sire FAIRY KING, his brother SADLER’S WELLS and three quarter brother NUREYEV are great candidates. Members of the GOODY TWO SHOES family, they reinforce the presence of Lorenzaccio in Master Of Design’s dam’s pedigree. All have appeared in the dams of Group One winners by Redoute’s Choice.
