KING’S LEGACY

A dual Group1 winning juvenile, King’s Legacy is similarly bred to top class sire, Not A Single Doubt, being by Redoute’s Choice out of a granddaughter of Not A Single Doubt’s dam.

King’s Legacy traces on tail female line to EASY DATE, dam of SNIPPETS, third dam of ZIZOU and second dam of Not A Single Doubt (also by Redoute’s Choice). Mares carrying SNIPPETS have worked very well with Redoute’s Choice and create desirable line breeding for King’s Legacy. Mares carrying or by his sons PINS, SNOWLAND and SNIPPETSON also qualify.

Redoute’s Choice and his second damsire Nijinsky II are members of the prepotent TORPENHOW family. King’s Legacy should welcome the presence of other family members in mares such as TRY MY BEST (sire of LAST TYCOON), DOMESDAY, THE MINSTREL (sire of PALACE MUSIC), HURRICANE SKY, XAAR, UMATILLA, MASTERCLASS, NEW REGENT, EL GRAN SENOR, SPINNING WORLD, GIELGUD, FAR NORTH, FREE AMERICA, RULER and DENON. Redoute’s Choice has an excellent strike rate with mares by Last Tycoon, producing 27 winners for 8 stakes winners at time of writing.

King’s Legacy’s dam’s grandsire Mr Prospector has an affinity with Nijinsky II, suggesting that more Nijinsky II will suit. Therefore, mares carrying ROYAL ACADEMY (and son BEL ESPRIT), CAERLEON (and sons BLETCHLEY PARK, ALQUOZ and GENEROUS), WESTERN SYMPHONY, YEATS, WHISKEY ROAD and KALA DANCER appeal.

Both Redoute’s Choice and Mr Prospector have had great success with STORM CAT in pedigrees. SHAMARDAL, TALE OF THE CAT, HIGH YIELD, STATUE OF LIBERTY, VAN NISTELROOY, GIANT’S CAUSEWAY, CATRAIL, HENNESSY (and descendants HENNY HUGHES, TURFFONTEIN, JOHANNESBURG, SCAT DADDY and NO NAY NEVER) can be sought in mares.

The ZABEEL branch of the Sir Tristram sire line has also been a favourite of Redoute’s Choice. Mares carrying Zabeel as well as via his sire descendants including SAVABEEL, OCTAGONAL, LONHRO, DON EDUARDO, RESET and ZED qualify.

Group 1 winning filly Oohood is a half sister to King’s Legacy’s dam. There is no reason why daughters of her sire I AM INVINCIBLE won’t work with King’s Legacy. In addition, I Am Invincible has worked very well with Hussonet (damsire of King’s Legacy).

King’s Legacy carries three lines to ALMAHMOUD family member, Northern Dancer, as well as fellow family members Danehill and Halo.  MACHIAVELLIAN is another family member, most easily sourced in Australia via his son, STREET CRY (sire of STREET BOSS, STREET SENSE, PER INCANTO etc). VETTORI is another son of Machiavellian. Other ALMAHMOUD male family members to seek are WAY OF LIGHT, EXIT TO NOWHERE, EL MOXIE, YOUTHFUL LEGS, DIATRIBE, ESPERERO, L’EMIGRANT, CANNONADE and ARCTIC TERN.

A sex balanced duplication of SUNDAY SILENCE (second damsire of King’s Legacy) can be created by introducing his sons and grandsons such as DEEP IMPACT, ANY GIVEN SUNDAY, FUJI KISEKI, GENUINE, HAT TRICK and ZENNO ROB ROY in mares.

Redoute’s Choice has responded very well to members of the THONG family. Broodmare sire representatives of SADLER’S WELLS, FAIRY KING and NUREYEV include ENCOSTA DE LAGO, FALBRAV, STRAVINSKY, SPINNING WORLD, STARCRAFT, PEINTRE CELEBRE, HIGH CHAPARRAL, SCENIC, CARNEGIE, EL PRADO (and sons ARTIE SCHILLER, KITTEN’S JOY and MEDAGLIA D’ORO), GALILEO and BARATHEA. For example, Redoute’s Choice’s outstanding son The Autumn Sun is out of a Galileo mare and Lankan Rupee is out of a Stravinsky mare. Redoute’s Choice has also worked extremely well with mares by ENCOSTA DE LAGO. His presence in mares’ pedigrees is sought, including via his sire sons and grandsons such as MANHATTAN RAIN, NEEDS FURTHER, RUBICK, NORTHERN METEOR, DEEP FIELD, SHOOTING TO WIN and ZOUSTAR.
