Gonski is from the family of PREGO, making his daughters and granddaughters appealing mates for Gonski.
Mr. Prospector line mares are particularly appealing for Gonski. Danehill has produced Group 1 winners such as Flying Spur, Rumplestiltskin, Regal Rose, Laisserfaire, Scintillation and Miss Danehill from Mr. Prospector line mares. In addition, Storm Bird in Gonski’s dam’s family also works well with Mr. Prospector. Australasian broodmare sires such as RHYTHM, HUSSONET, WOODMAN, STRAIGHT STRIKE, UMATILLA, GEIGER COUNTER, BELLOTTO, EL MOXIE, JADE ROBBERY, distorted humor, END SWEEP, INFLATE, VETTORI, THUNDER GULCH and SECRET SAVINGS are examples of Mr. Prospector line damsires.
Another good cross for Gonski will be STAR KINGDOM. Many of Danehill’s Australian Group performers have STAR KINGDOM through their dams. MARSCAY, BLETCHINGLY, LUSKIN STAR and canny lad in particular have had great success with Danehill. Gonski carries a daughter of Biscay (Biscalowe) and will appreciate sons of Biscay in mares.
HALO line broodmares are appealing for Gonski. A close relation to Northern Dancer (to which Gonski is linebred) and Danehill, Halo can be sourced via DON’T SAY HALO, FUJI KISEKI, MORE THAN READY, irgunand SUNDAY SILENCE. VRC Australian Guineas winner Al Maher is by Danehill out of a Don’t Say Halo mare.
Similarly, MACHIAVELLIAN line mares (also from Danehill and Northern Dancer’s family) will suit, especially as he is by Mr. Prospector. Mares by EL MOXIE, ALMUTAWAKEl, NO EXCUSE NEEDED, STREET CRY and VETTORI are examples.
The duplication of Sir Ivor in Gonski calls for his old friend, NIJINSKY II. Damsires carrying this individual include CAERLEON, BLETCHLEY PARK, ROYAL ACADEMY, ESPERANTO, KALA DANCER, SEA ROAD, SERHEED, WESTERN SYMPHONY, WHISKEY ROAD and YEATS.
The ALOPE family is represented by Round Table and Doutelle in Gonski. Other family members to create further desirable line breeding include POMPEII COURT, ALCIDE, TALE OF THE CAT, JOHANNESBURG, DONE WEST, KNOWN FACT, PRINCE BRIGHT and SONG OF TARA.
