The dams of two of Fusaichi Pegasus’ top US stakes winners are by sons of DEPUTY MINISTER – SILVER DEPUTY and SALT LAKE. Another damsire, DEHERE, has produced the Vanity Stakes winner Pure Joy with Fusaichi Pegasus in Australia. FRENCH DEPUTY, WITH CLASS and GALLO DI FERRO are also sons of Deputy Minister.
Dual Group One winner Haradasun is out of a MARSCAY mare.
Mr. Prospector / Secretariat crosses have a good strike rate. Broodmare sires carrying Secretariat include DEHERE, CHIEF’S CROWN, TALE OF THE CAT, GRAND LODGE and KINGSTON RULE.
Secretariat is also damsire of STORM CAT, who, along with his sire STORM BIRD, is working extremely well with Fusaichi Pegasus in the Northern Hemisphere, producing SW’s Andromeda’s Hero, Pegasusbystorm and Superfly. Australian Listed winner Yasumori is out of a Storm Cat mare. Mares by TALE OF THE CAT, BLUEBIRD, HENNESSY, DOLPHIN STREET, LAKE CONISTON and JOHANNESBURG would be good crosses.
Hong Kong star Floral Pegasus is out of a MILL REEF mare. He can be sourced through mares by MAROONED, LAST TYCOON (damsire of SW Dr. Green), SHIRLEY HEIGHTS, DOYOUN, WATER MILL and KINGSTON MILL.
The Northern Dancer line has an excellent record with Mr. Prospector and sons. Fusaichi Pegasus’ Group One winning son Bandini is out of a mare by DIXIELAND BAND, a son of Northern Dancer. SW Enemy of Average is from a mare by another son in LOMOND. Lomond’s son CITIDANCER has also produced the dam of SW in Just Dancing, while THE MINSTREL’s grandson NATURALISM is damsire to SW Zizou.
There is a wide choice of sons of DANZIG whose daughters automatically create a dynamic sex balanced pattern with Fusaichi Pegasus. Fusaichi Pegasus’ stakes winning daughter Fun In Flight is out of an ANABAA mare, while SP The Roundhouse (USA) is out of a BELONG TO ME mare.
Matings with DANEHILL’s daughters create 3f x 3m inbreeding to Danzig and four lines to the prepotent Almahmoud with Fusaichi Pegasus. SW Flying Pegasus and SP Poetic Genius, Mary Marvel, Switchblade and Flying Dansino are all out of Danehill mares, giving an indication of the success of this cross.
BRIEF TRUCE mares also create a sex balanced Northern Dancer cross 4m x 4f. Group 2 winner Tipungwuti is out of a Brief Truce mare.
Halo, who appears through a daughter in Fusaichi Pegasus, can be sex balanced by using mares from this sireline. DON’T SAY HALO, IRGUN, SUNDAY SILENCE, FUJIKISEKI and MORE THAN READY daughters are good candidates.
Fusaichi Pegasus has already produced two stakes performers out of Nijinsky II line mares. SW Talented and SP Ex Caelis are examples. Nijinsky II can be sourced in Australia through ROYAL ACADEMY, WESTERN SYMPHONY, YEATS, HURRICANE SKY, REDOUTE’S CHOICE, QUEST FOR FAME and WHISKEY ROAD mares.
RED RANSOM has produced a stakes winner by Fusaichi Pegasus in France.
CENTURY line mares have been responsible for two stakes placegetters by Fusaichi Pegasus to-date. RUBITON, CENTAINE, CENTRO and EUCLASE daughters are candidates.
The SEATTLE SLEW line is working with Fusaichi Pegasus. He is the damsire of SP In Excelsis and grandsire of SW Killenaule by Fu Peg. Seattle Slew’s half brother Lomond is responsible for SW Enemy of Average. KINGSTON SEATTLE, WARRING NATIONS, YONDER and A. P. INDY line mares all supply Seattle Slew.
