A dual Gr. 1 winning son of top class U.S. sire War Front, Declaration Of War has many strong pedigree points to which broodmares can attach.
Mr. Prospector is duplicated in Declaration Of War 5m x 4m. Many of War Front’s best progeny are bred on duplications of Mr. Prospector or carry other FRIZETTE family members. This is also the family of FORESTRY, SEATTLE SLEW (sire of A.P. INDY), SING SING, DJEDDAH, ROAN ROCKET (damsire of RORY’S JESTER), GREGORIAN, FERDINAND and LOMOND (sire of CITIDANCER). Mares carrying Mr. Prospector’s son FORTY NINER (sire of broodmare sires such as END SWEEP, DISTORTED HUMOR, TWINING etc) have been particularly successful with War Front.
While Declaration of War is a grandson of Danzig, he still has appeal for broodmares by DANEHILL grandsons and great grandsons, and for mares carrying daughters of Danehill. The chief appeal for this duplication is that Danehill is out of a HIS MAJESTY mare. Declaration of War’s sire War Front has had great success with mares carrying His Majesty, with Gr. 1 winner WAR COMMAND and Gr.2 winners SUMMER FRONT and LINES OF BATTLE bearing this influence.
Declaration Of War’s damsire Rahy is from the MISS SWAPSCO family. This line can be reinforced by introducing mares carrying fellow family members such as SINGSPIEL, DEVILS BAG, SAINT BALLADO, RIVOTIOUS, JAN MURRAY and MANSHOOD.
Rahy’s dam is a daughter of Halo. It is very easy to sex balance this key ancestor by using broodmares carrying sons of HALO. Mares by DON’T SAY HALO, OREGON, SOUTHERN HALO and his sons (including MORE THAN READY and DUBLEO), SUNDAY SILENCE and his sons (including FUJI KISEKI, GENUINE, KEEP THE FAITH and BUBBLE GUM FELLOW).
Similarly, Declaration Of War’s second damsire is a daughter of GONE WEST, opening the way for sex balanced duplication with mares from this sire line. Mares by ELUSIVE QUALITY, MR. GREELEY, XAAR and SPEIGHTSTOWN for example, create this speed pattern.
War Front’s Gr. 1 winning son WAR COMMAND is a son of RED RANSOM.
Gone West and Round Table in Declaration Of War’s pedigree are ALOPE family members. Other family members to seek in mares to create positive line breeding include TALE OF THE CAT, KNOWN FACT and JOHANNESBURG. POMPEII COURT (damsire of STARCRAFT) is also desirable as he carries two ALOPE family members in Tell and Round Table.
War Front’s exciting 2 year old GUERRE is out of a mare by HENNESSY. He is a son of STORM CAT who can be accessed via other broodmare sires such as TALE OF THE CAT, FORESTRY, BLACK MINNALOUSHE, JOHANNESBURG, STATUE OF LIBERTY, PURREALIST, GIANT’S CAUSEWAY, SHAMARDAL, HIGH YIELD, VAN NISTELROOY and HENNY HUGHES.
The duplication of Nijinsky II in Declaration Of War should appreciate the presence of other TORPENHOW family members in mares. REDOUTE’S CHOICE, FAR NORTH, THE MINSTREL, HURRICANE SKY, XAAR, UMATILLA, FREE AMERICA, RULER, DENON, MASTERCLASS, NEW REGENT, EL GRAN SENOR, SPINNING WORLD and GIELGUD are all individuals from this line.
Declaration Of War should work very well with BLETCHINGLY. He is highly compatible with fellow LADY SUSAN family member, Danzig (grandsire of Declaration Of War). Sources of Bletchingly include CANNY LAD (damsire of REDOUTE’S CHOICE), BEST WESTERN, BRAVE WARRIOR (and son SHOW A HEART) and STAR WATCH (sons HURRICANE SKY and PAUILLAC).
War Front has worked very well with ICECAPADE, producing two Gr.1 winners and a Gr.2 winner from mares carrying this influence. He can be sourced in mares with CLEVER TRICK or WILD AGAIN in their pedigrees.
