Danehill Dancer has stakes winners world wide and his results serve as a good guide to the type of broodmare sires which suit him in Australia.
The STAR KINGDOM line is proving particularly successful for Danehill Dancer. He has produced stakes winners such as Private Steer, Choisir, Shrewd Rhythm, Coronga, Break The Barrier, Slinky Planet, Dynamic Dancer, Damigos, Tango Amigo’s and Turaga and stakes placegetters Stripper, Danaurum, Raeburn, Starry Light, Viva Caro and Magic Harmony out of mares carrying Star Kingdom.
In particular, Bletchingly line mares are desirable. Danehill’s sire Danzig is from the family of Rockefella, who is already present in Danehill Dancer. BLETCHINGLY is the third well known ancestor from this family. He already appears in the pedigrees of several of Danehill’s top stakes winners including Redoute’s Choice.
Group One winning son Choisir’s damsire is LUNCHTIME.
The THONG family also is enjoying great success with Danehill Dancer. Her descendants SADLER’S WELLS and THATCHING appear close up in the dams of stakes performers such as English Ballet, Danehill Music, Barbajuan, Dance Night, Silver Wraith, Lady Lindsay and Cappa Brack. This also suggests that other THONG family members such as FAIRY KING, TATE GALLERY and descendants of Thatching such as ARCHWAY, PUISSANCE, RUSTIC AMBER, SEQUALO, SHALFORD and TIROL will also work.
Danehill Dancer’s damsire Sharpen Up has been duplicated in two stakes winners by him. Lady Dominatrix and Bright Edge both carry Sharpen Up on their dams’ sire lines. Mares by SWITCH IN TIME, FAMOUS STAR, DIESIS, KRIS and KEEN create this pattern.
The BLUSHING GROOM line is also worth pursuing for Danehill Dancer. He is in the pedigree of Danehill Gr. One winners Arena, Intercontinental, Banks Hill and North Light. Blushing Groom can be sourced in mares by QUEST FOR FAME, NASSIPOUR, ARAZI, URGENT REQUEST, REDDING, VISCOUNT and SPECTRUM.
Mr. Prospector line mares are particularly appealing, with Danehill having produced Group 1 winners such as Flying Spur, Rumplestiltskin, Regal Rose, Laisserfaire, Scintillation and Miss Danehill from Mr. Prospector line mares. Danehill Dancer has recently produced Gr.1 winner Alexander Tango out of a Woodman mare and Gr.2 winner Just Mambo out of a Kingmambo mare. Australasian broodmare sires such as RHYTHM, WOODMAN, STRAIGHT STRIKE, UMATILLA, GEIGER COUNTER, BELLOTTO, EL MOXIE, JADE ROBBERY, distorted humor, END SWEEP, INFLATE, VETTORI, THUNDER GULCH and SECRET SAVINGS are good candidates.
The STORM BIRD line is also working well with Danehill Dancer. Group One winner Miss Beatrix is out of a CATRAIL mare, while Downhill Racer (Gr.2) is by BLUEBIRD and Dance Night (L) has Bluebird as his second damsire. Other sources include TALE OF THE CAT, DOLPHIN STREET, HENNESSY, LAKE CONISTON and MUKADDAMAH.
Danehill Dancer has produced Group One winner Arapaho Miss and Gr.3 winner Sexy Lady out of EXIT TO NOWHERE mares. By Riverman, he is a close relation of MACHIAVELLIAN, DANEHILL and HALO.
