Air Force Blue is a European Champion 2 year old by world class sire War Front. His sire’s proven patterns can be exploited in potential matings while in addition, Air Force Blue’s dam carries several features which can also be utilised with Australian broodmares.
Air Force Blue carries a duplication of LA TROIENNE family member Buckpasser. CONGRATS, MORE THAN READY, WOODMAN, PRIVATE ACCOUNT, BUPERS, FRANCIS S., HOOK MONEY, CORNISH PRINCE, MR. BUSHER, PARDAL, THE AXE II, ARDAN, BIMELECH, NOBLE BIJOU, BELONG TO ME and RHYTHM are other LA TROIENNE family members desirable in mares. War Front’s Gr.1 winner AVENGE is out of a WOODMAN mare.
Two of War Front’s 14 Gr.1 winners are out of SADLER’S WELLS mares. He can be sourced via mares by GALILEO, HIGH CHAPARRAL, MONTJEU, BARATHEA, CARNEGIE, KING OF KINGS, RUNYON, SCENIC (and son BLEVIC) amongst others. Sadler’s Wells’ brother FAIRY KING is accessible via mares by ENCOSTA DE LAGO, FALBRAV and HELISSIO.
Air Force Blue carries Seeking The Gold through a daughter. A dynamic sex balanced duplication can be created by using mares by sons and grandsons of Seeking The Gold such as SECRET SAVINGS, DASH FOR CASH, SWISS ACE, DUBAI MILLENIUM, DUBAWI, LUJAIN and USTINOV.
Storm Bird is also present via a daughter, making his son STORM CAT an obvious choice in matings to create sex balance. War Front’s Gr.1 winner WAR COMMAND and Gr.2 winners SUMMER FRONT and LINES OF BATTLE carry His Majesty. While Air Force Blue is a grandson of Danzig, he maintains appeal for broodmares by DANEHILL grandsons and great grandsons. The major attraction is that Danehill is out of an HIS MAJESTY mare. Air Force Blue’s dam actually contributes His Majesty’s close relation Majestic Prince on her sire line. His Majesty can also be sourced via PLEASANT COLONY’s son, DENON.
Danehill’s son FLYING SPUR looks particularly good with Air Force Blue, as he is bred on a reverse of the two Mr. Prospector / Northern Dancer crosses present via Rubiano and Circle Of Gold (his second dam).
War Front’s Gr. 1 winning son WAR COMMAND is a son of RED RANSOM while he has also produced stakes winners with fellow son of ROBERTO, KRIS S (sire of ARCH, BROCCO etc).
Mares by UNBRIDLED’S SONG have worked very well with War Front, producing three Grade winners.
Mr. Prospector is duplicated in Air Force Blue 5m x 4m. Many of War Front’s best progeny are bred on duplications of Mr. Prospector or carry other FRIZETTE family members. This is also the family of FORESTRY, SEATTLE SLEW (sire of A.P. INDY), SING SING, DJEDDAH, ROAN ROCKET (damsire of RORY’S JESTER), GREGORIAN, FERDINAND and LOMOND (sire of CITIDANCER). Mares carrying Mr. Prospector’s son FORTY NINER (sire of broodmare sires such as END SWEEP, DISTORTED HUMOR, TWINING etc) have been particularly successful with War Front.
Being a Northern Dancer line stallion with another line to this influence further back, Air Force Blue will suit broodmares carrying other ALMAHMOUD descendants such as HALO, ORPEN, WAY OF LIGHT, MACHIAVELLIAN, ESPERERO, EXIT TO NOWHERE, CANNONADE, NUCLEAR FREEZE, CATRAIL, EAGLE EYED, EL MOXIE, YOUTHFUL LEGS, L’EMIGRANT and ARCTIC TERN.
The BLACK DUCHESS family is represented by Rubiano and Caro.
